Autism is a term for a group of complex disorders of brain development. These disorders are characterized, in several ways, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors. Autism tends to first appear in very early brain development. However, the most obvious signs of autism and symptoms of autism tend to come up between 2 and 3 years of age. There have been several fundraising events that have helped the families who are struggling with an autistic family member. One event was conducted by Tri-State Dealerships from Mazda, raising $43,500 with their nationwide holiday campaign "Drive For Good" for Autism Speaks.
