Panoramas

How To:

In order to create a panorama using a digital camera and photoshop, you will have to put your camera on a tripod. This will allow you to have steady shots throughout the peroid of time you are taking images for the panorama. A panorama is composed of at least 4 images. You can do more if wanted. These 4 images must be taken from one side of an area to the other side. To do this, set up your tripod and camera where you want in order to shoot your chosen area. Then, take one image from the left side of the area. From there, you will have to turn your camera to the right each time you want to capture another image of the area. Keep in mind that you will have to keep at least 20% of the previous image in the next one. This means that you will have to make sure that the last bit of the last image in the first bit of the next image. You keep shooting images until however many you are wanting, then you stop and head to photoshop.

Once you have downloaded everything to your computer, open photoshop. From there, go to File - Automate - Photomerge. From there, select Browse, and then look for the photos you shot and select them in order of how you shot each one. Once they are all on the box, for the best results, select Vignette Removal and Geometric Distortion Correction. Keep Blend Images Together selected, as well as the Auto layout that is in the left hand column. Once that is all done, hit OK. Then, photoshop will merge everything together. After you given the finished panorama, there might be a grey and white checker board around it. To get rid of it, simply use your crop tool, surround the image, and crop off the checker board. Once that is done go to Layer - Flatten Image. Then, go to File - Save As, and save it as a JPEG, then you are done.
